About Me
What does Chrysler, Lowe's Home Improvement, Dr. Pepper, LeAnn Rimes, Busta Rhymes, Toni Braxton, and The Spice Girls all share in common? The exceptional creative genius of Director Joe Rey. Since the late 1980's, clients have relied on Joe Rey's keen visual aesthetic, ingenuity, and the boundless enthusiasm he brings to each project.
Initially attending the Art Institute of Philadelphia, Joe Rey started his career as an intern to Garret Brown, inventor of the Steadicam. From there, Rey moved on to Production Design for commercials, feature films, and music videos. Eventually, he started his own successful production design firm, A.C.M.E. Art Department. Directing was a natural transition for Joe Rey. He began this next phase in his career by directing & co-directing chart-topping music videos for artists such as Bryan Adams, The Backstreet Boys, Ricky Martin and Courtney Love. His first commercial spot was a PSA for Philip Morris.
Joe Rey currently resides in Portland, Oregon. He and his partner, designer Heather Harrison, collaborate on many projects, including the raising of their two young daughters.
